A new development approved for nine flats on Shorncliffe Road, Folkestone, which is a major route into the town and which boasts a number of existing Victorian and Edwardian properties. The design generator for the project was to pick up on the varied pitched gabled roofs and prominent projecting bay windows of the surrounding period architecture.

 

The proposal delivers a contemporary scheme that responds to the period architectural features within the street scene. The rendered bays provide recessed balconies. A penthouse apartment is contained within the roof space which reflects the loft accommodation of neighbouring period properties.
