Planning approval for a new contemporary house at St Margaret’s Bay, Kent. The site formed part of a large plot to an existing house which was outside of the defined development boundary of the village. The development site was also within the St Margaret’s Bay Conservation Area and adjacent to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

 

Although outside of the defined development boundary where new development is restricted the scheme was unanimously approved at Planning Committee as it was considered that it represented a high quality design which raised the standard of design more generally in the area.
